Result of ticket #177: 

The methods getPAZ() and getMetadata() return IMHO a "strange" format - a dict of instrument names.

actually its in obspy.seishub not obspy.arclink.

+1, wanted that changed a long time
could get a bit tricky most likely if we want to make sure old code executes, though...
But then again, I think we know all SeisHub users personally... ;-)
